Building Frimley’s Bigger Future
Hastings and Bexhill Mencap strives to open all of our services and projects to everyone, regardless of their abilities.
Unfortunately, at times, it isn’t possible to offer all of our services to everybody due to the need for accessible spaces. To move forward into a world where people with physical and learning disabilities have access to all of the projects and activities we offer, our organisation must grow!
Find out why and how we are Building Frimley’s Bigger Future…
Frimley is based in London Road, St Leonards. We feel part of the community here, the transport links provide access for our more independent members and our minibuses are accessible for outings into our community. For this reason we feel strongly about expanding our service and building rather than move! In 2018 we submitted a planning application to extend our current premises to include a large performing arts space, a visual arts studio, an accessible lift and outside recreational space.
To have this new addition to our existing building will mean being able to increase the services that people can access regardless of their physical needs. It’s a huge project, but one we feel is essential to the sustainable future of Hastings and Bexhill Mencap. We need to raise around a million pounds to make this project happen!
