BFBF – Building Frimleys Bigger Future – the work continues…
After years of planning, fundraising and hours and hours of packing and relocating, the time has come to start Building Frimley’s Bigger Future. Open Door, Active Arts and the Office Team have relocated temporarily while the building works continue.
The build project was so huge, we had to split it into 2 phases!
-Phase 1 of the build sees Frimley, 64 London Road undergo significant transformation to incorporate a new lift, training kitchen and visual arts suite as well as refurbished class rooms and sensory area. The new facilities will be accessible to everyone using our services as well as community groups using the space.
-Phase 2 has already begun and will provide our organisation with the fully accessible performing arts space that we so desperately need. Inaccessible performance spaces will be a thing of the past!
Both phases of the project will be linked via the new lift, an accessible footbridge and sensory gardens.
Like any major build project, there have been hurdles to overcome and for various reasons the project has been delayed. We continues to work hard to raise every penny for the new build so that our services and organisation is secure for years to come.
We hope to relocate all of our services back by the end of the year.
